Bilenerji started first to generate electricity in 1995, with a MAN gas turbine of 4.5 MW. Ater on, the capacity has been increased to 36.5 MW by adding a Rolls Royce brand gas turbine and a Allen Steam brand steam turbine.
The steam produced in the waste heat boilers of RR gas turbine is used for regional heating and for providing Meteksan operational steam and the remaining steam is converted into electric energy in the steam turbine.
A Distribution Control System (DCS) is installed at the power plant, which controls the entire system. In addition, all the system have their own PLC control systems. The entire system can be observed through monitors.
